The stunning refurbished Rainbow Room International salon interior on George Square in Glasgow. The talented people over at Designworks in Glasgow knocked it out the park as they so often do with this project. It was a joy to photograph, but also a challenge.
Photographing big open plan commercial interiors like this can pose a lot of technical problems. For a start, just look at the amount of mirrors there are. This gets even trickier when it comes to lighting the scene, which given the dynamic range within the scene was absolutely necessary to get the results you see here. A fair bit of work in post as well to composite some lighting in, and composite some light gear out. What's the point if it's easy right?
