This was a new experience for me, and could have been quite a tricky one, thankfully it all went smoothly, having Gillian Welsh on board art directing really helped. Another shoot for the Homes & Interiors Scotland magazine where I was put thoroughly out of my comfort zone. Nobody really wants to be photographed when they're exercising, probably even more so when it's a private pilates class, Jaynes understanding clientèle were most accommodating though. You have to be very discrete and understanding when you're taking photographs in this kind of environment, and of course to get everything sharp and evenly exposed I had to get my lights in there, a fair bit to consider, but then nothing new in my line of work. As with any interior photography, once I was set up, we managed to nail the shots quite quickly, I made sure I knew exactly the settings required before the class came in, we had to do a bit of moving around, but there was barely any room as the class was full.
Jayne's family home and pilates studio was a joy to shoot, thanks to Jayne and her family for their patience on the day, they made my job as easy as it gets when I had so much to consider on the day, a real mixed bag of proper interior photography and off the cuff lifestyle photography.
