November, 2008! This was my second visit to Venice, this time armed with my first full frame pro spec camera, at the time the flagship @canonuk 1Ds mk2. I've still got it, although it is packed away in a box, it's pretty much redundant in the face of modern cameras, but it was the one to have at the time, and I loved it, it was a superb workhorse. I was also armed with a first gen TS-E 24mm shift lens, and shot mostly night images exploring the possibilities of being able to shift and planar stitch the resulting images to give me a much bigger field of view without compromising my perspective. It's a technique I use to this very day, almost every image I make is a planar stitch from one of the four shift lenses I shoot on. This one weighed in at 31.3MP.
This is a re-edit of the original RAW files, I should have bracketed more at the time, but that's inexperience for you, I've got a folder full of these though, and I'm going to go through a select few and get them onto the website soon. Watch this space.
